KantCon 2011 Event Update

Hey all! I’ve been getting Event submissions for a few weeks now, and it’s time to give you all a preview of what’s to come at KantCon 2011. The list that follows is all of the Board, RPG and Card Events that I have received to date. If you think that there’s a game or system that’s missing from the list, well, strap up and run it! The Event Submission page is right here.

Board Game Events

Last Night on Earth

A survival horror board game that pits small-town Heroes head-to-head against a limitless horde of Zombies (players can play on the Hero team or as the Zombies). A modular board randomly determines the layout of the town at the start of each game and there are several different scenarios to play, adding lots of replayability. Fast Paced Game Play with Easy To Learn rules allows players to jump right into the action, while Strategic Depth and Strong Cooperative Play keeps the game interesting.

New Players welcome.

Zombie State-Diplomacy of the Dead

The world is too late. The virus known as MV1 has gone global. You, the leader of your people, have moved quickly to consolidate your local governments in hopes that you are not too late to carve some chance of hope out of what appears to be none. Rushing to develop effective technologies and retrain your military against this new threat proves difficult but is your only chance at salvation. Resources will prove important and become continually scarce as MV1 continues to sweep through your territory. Do you have what it takes to keep your people alive? Or, better yet, can you eliminate the threat of the walking dead from your territory completely? Many technologies lay at your disposal if you test them successfully, but the true strength of these technologies lie in the versatile com! binations that you choose to use. Will you rely on military strength, physics and science, or research medicine to find a cure? Perhaps your survival lies in utilizing combinations of these technologies. Either way your fallen countrymen have only one form of diplomacy and that is that they are at peace only when they are feeding. Feeding on you and your people and spreading the deadly MV1 viral infection. Welcome to The Zombie State: Diplomacy of the Dead. New Players welcome.

Ubongo Tournament!

Are you ready to puzzle it out? Do you have the nerves of a mongoose on RedBull? Compete with other players in a fast-paced, shape-manipulating game that will likely give your parietal lobe a good workout! But solve your puzzle fast, because the other players are competing against you for colored jewels!

It takes only minutes to learn and less than 15 minutes to play a game, so get into the tournament and claim your victory!

Space Hulk

Space Hulk is a two-player board game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Blood Angel Space Marine Terminators battle against xenomorph Genestealers deep within a derelict space ship known as a Space Hulk!

Age of Conan

Age of Conan is a 2 to 4 player area control board game. The game is fully immersed in the Hyperborian world created by Robert E. Howard.

All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Revised Edition – Labyrinth of Night

The year is 2109.  You’re a team of researchers on Mars for Project Star Hammer, a terraforming project of great magnitude, when a fierce dust storm blows your shuttle off course.  Can you endure the partially terraformed planet?  Will you survive the secrets uncovered in the sand?  Find out in the Labyrinth of Night.

Feng Shui – League of Extraordinary Gentlemen 1977

The League finds itself under siege from across time and space! With the limited resources available after a cataclysmic ripple in the Time Tunnel, Charlie has brought all the resources at the disposal of the League and IMF together and commandeered the Love Boat. Can a ragtag group of miscreants, cops, and jive-turkeys help the League and survive the perils of Fantasy Island?!

Car Wars – Road Rage: 2025

Roll your death-wagon into the arena and try to be the last man standing.

Pathfinder – While Sigil Sleeps, We Rule the Streets

Pipe down, berk and take a listen. If you don’t wanna end up with yer name in the sodding dead-book, listen good. Sigil’s always moving, always something happening in The Cage. But if you know which way the wind’s blowing, you’ll know that there’s change coming. Something big, something to make any cutter worth his salt stand up and take notice. Make sure you know which side to come down on.

Change is coming. Don’t sleep on it

Monsters and Other Childish Things – Camp Yergonnadie

It’s the same thing every summer. The weather turns warm, school lets out and your folks ship you off to Camp Yer-Gon-Hie, or as you always refer to it, Yergonnadie. This year… something’s different. The camp staff look weirder than usual and the food at the dining hall actually tastes good.

And then there’s your new friend. It appeared right after you got into camp and no one else seems to be able to see it. And it keeps mumbling something about The Big One. Oh, and whining about its Favorite Thing. But it says it loves you. It says it wants to keep you safe. And you believe it.

Deadlands – Chemical Valley: The Hunt for Asher

Somehow, Asher didn’t die. Yer posse put bullets into him and put him into the ground, but he’s still walkin’. Word is, he’s gone south of Bismark to a place used to be called Carter’s Gulch. Most folk know it now as Chemical Valley. Tain’t right for someone supposed to be dead just walkin’ around like he’s got some kinda right to be ambulatory. It’s yer job to find ‘im and take ‘im done. For sure, this time.

Savage Worlds (Deadlands) – Care Bears: Reloaded – Search for the Star Buddies

All is not well in the Kingdom of Caring. The Star Buddies, the cute little stars that watch over the Care Bears, are missing. Who would want to keep the Care Bears from helping the world care more? The only clue is a set of hoof prints moving down into the world below…

Savage Worlds (Deadlands) – My Little Pony: Ponies of the Apocalypse

The time has come! Too long have the furry oppressors waged their war of Caring on this world. It is time for the Ponies of the Apocalypse to rise and take their rightful places in the world. Take on the roles of Famine, Pestilence, War, Death and… Pudding, as you strive to capture the Star Buddies and bring about the end of the world.
This event is part of a trio of events that will run at KantCon. If you sign up for this event, you must also sign up for the Battle Royale event on Sunday. If you cannot make this commitment, please do not sign up for this event.

Lines have been crossed. Acts have been perpetrated that can never be undone. It is time to find out who the truly deserves to control the hearts and minds of the children of humanity. This is a fight to the end. It’s the Care Bears vs My Little Ponies and only one group will remain standing.

This is the second of a two-part event. If you played in either Care Bears: Reloaded or Ponies of the Apocalypse, you must also sign up for this event. If you did not participate in either of those events, you may not sign up for this event.

Savage Worlds – Atomic Kung-Fu Cowboys of the 21st Century

East meets West meets 21st century Mars. Kung-fu Cowboys roam the new frontier of the plains of Cydonia fighting for freedom, glory and sometimes just good ol’ honest greed. Join the adventure as a group of mismatched, misfit Space Marshals in the throes of frontier justice and adventure.

Song of Ice and Fire – Wedding Knight

An encounter set in the fantastical world of Westeros, as written by George R. R. Martin. As is often the case in the Seven Kingdoms, two minor noble houses, at odds with each other for years, are about to be united through an alliance of marriage. Ser Kevan Selwyn, a young knight is to wed Sylvie Hamond, the daughter of a rival house. To help keep things tranquil, an impartial third-party, House Helmcrest, is called upon to host the ceremony. Submission Form is Working Now

When I posted about Event Submission being open, I did so without having fully tested the system. I found out, to my dismay, that the form worked fine except that it did not send the Event Submissions to my inbox. Well, I’ve switched it to a new form system, and all is well.

The only problem from the previous system is that, if you submitted an Event, you will need to resubmit it so I can actually make a note of it and start building the schedule.

If you’ve not submitted an Event yet, what are you waiting for?

Event Submission is open!

It’s my favorite time of the pre-KantCon months. It’s time for all of you GMs to get your mental wheels turning and start thinking about the events that you want to run at KantCon.

That’s right, Event Submission is live!

Remember, you must be pre-registered for KantCon to submit an Event (we’ll be cross-checking every submission). If you’ve not pre-registered, head over here and do so.

We look forward to seeing what you all come up with.
